This queen cage holder is made to hold queen cages between frames when installing packages, making splits or requeening a hive. It can be used whenever the beekeeper needs to hold a cage while the queen is released. Holds many styles of cages including JZ-BZ, California Mini (wooden), 3 hole (wooden) and roller. It is made by Honey Lake Bee Company.
Constructed of injection molded plastic and can be used many times over. The design uses a hook over the top bar to support the cage within the comb area. The cage is also held horizontally so that the candy plug hole is less likely to be blocked. Finding and inspecting the cage to confirm queen release is a breeze and there is little risk of the cage falling to the bottom of the box

Note:
With wooden cages, orient the cage in the holder so the screen is either up or down, not to the side, because oriented sideways, bees cannot feed the queen through the screen.
