Bee Hive Stands
There are several reasons that you might elevate your hive. A hive stand can:
- Prevent moisture buildup in the hive.
- Ensure your bottom board lasts a long time.
- Keep grass away from the hive entrance.
Many bee hive stands fall into the DYI camp; in particular, placing two cinder blocks on the ground to provide solid support (two blocks per hive). But we offer a couple other options including the Ultimate Hive Stand and The Lyson Hive Stand. While our Cedar Base can be placed directly on the ground, we recommend it is further elevated as its main purpose is to create a larger landing area for bees coming into the bee hive.
