Gloves

Betterbee offers several types of beekeeping gloves. Our favorite is the Disposable Nitrile Glove. Despite the name, these disposable gloves are good for a few uses per pair. Our leather gloves are ideal for beginners — choose from ventilated, non-ventilated, and goatskin styles.

Some beekeepers believe gloves make you comfortable, so you notice more and worry less about getting stung. Others believe not wearing gloves teaches a beekeeper quickly what movements work (or don't) when inspecting bees. It's important for a beekeeper to feel comfortable in and around the hive, so most novice keepers wear leather or goatskin gloves.
