Lyson Wax Processing Tank
Lyson’s new wax processing tank is designed for safe and efficient cleaning of your raw beeswax using a boiling water bath and gravity. The tank is partially filled with water, and then wax. The boiling action of the water separates honey and solids from the wax, leaving clean pure beeswax. Lyson’s double walled tank is fully insulated on all sides to all but eliminate wasted heat and reduce heating time.
The wax tank is relatively simple to use. First, the tank is filled with water to the level of the upper spigot. Then wax is loaded into the tank. The thermostat is set to boiling (over 100 degrees C) and allowed to boil. After boiling for a short period, the tank is allowed to settle so that all small particles will sink to the bottom. At this time, floating debris can also be removed from the wax. The middle valve is then opened to drain contaminated water from the tank. Once liquid wax begins to emerge, the valve is closed and the upper valve is opened and clean wax is drained out. This hot wax can be filtered as it pours if desired.
