Quickly and accurately measure the weight of any nuc or hive in a short period of time with the Hivetronics PHS 2.0 portable hive scale!

The PHS 2.0 measures a hive’s weight at any point during the season, including during critical fall feeding. It takes the guesswork out of evaluating hive weight so that feed can be provided to the right hives every time. The scale slides under any type of hive, lifts it, and sends the weight to the Hivetronics App on your Android or Apple (coming soon) device. With this scale, a beekeeper can rapidly measure all the hives in an apiary, make feeding or management decisions, and move on the next yard.

The PHS 2.0 is designed, manufactured, and built in Canada. Its durable steel construction is meant for steady use by busy beekeepers. The base and lift plates are made of stainless steel, while the structural frame is powder coated steel. The load cells are rated for over 300 lb and can be used winter or summer.

The PHS 2.0’s design allows you to lift many different types of hives (including Warre, Langstroth and nucleus boxes). The hive needs to be set in such a way that the 1-3/8” scale can slide underneath it prior to lifting. Setting the bottom board on two 2x4s laying on their sides will prop the hive up 1.5”, creating the perfect opening for the scale. Some bottom boards, including screened bottom boards, may require cross bars to provide the scale with a sturdy lift point. See user instructions for more details.
