Candle Making Class

Make a candle (or a tree ornament) from pure beeswax under the guidance of Betterbee’s two most experienced candlemakers!

• We’ll start with Head Beekeeper, Anne Frey, and a quick tour of the beeswax processing equipment we use to collect wax from Betterbee’s own hives.
• Then we’ll move to the wax house with our Staff Artist, Melaney Sandbrook, who will teach you about candle making, show tips and tricks for making beautiful beeswax candles, and help you pour your own candles. Mel will also show off some advanced candle art techniques that you can use to make show stopping candles.

Participants are encouraged to pre-order candle molds before the class, and your new molds will be ready for you to use. Just choose “Pick Up at Betterbee” during checkout and leave a note that you want to get your molds when you arrive for the class.

All participants will get to keep three (3) pure beeswax candles produced during the class. The candles you make in our on-site candle molds can be picked up in a few days after the wax has hardened, or they can be shipped to you for a small fee if you can’t make it back to Betterbee to pick it up. If you purchased candle mold(s), you can take them home the day of the class.
