2 Million Blossoms: Protect Our Pollinators, a quarterly magazine, was launched in January 2020 by editor Dr. Kirsten S. Traynor. Each 100+ page issue is designed to inspire, inform and entertain bee and insect lovers of all types. Stunning nature photography and thoughtful writing by various experts in the field fill each issue. While currently not in print, the back issues are available for collectors and readers. Choose from 2020, 2021, or both years. Printed on high quality, sustainably sourced paper.

Brief descriptions of the issues are as follows:

January 2020 - The inaugural issue of 2 Million Blossoms includes articles on bees’ abilities to forage for water by Craig Childs and Madelaine Ostwald, as well as an article on pollinator gardens by Kim Flottum. In addition, Rusty Burlew explores beekeeping ethics and lesser known pollinators. Sara Dykman and Rachael Bonoan discuss butterflies, plus several other articles on pollinators and gardening.

April 2020 - The second issue features stunning alpine wildflower photos by Jake Mosher, and an article on an ecologist’s mission to save a butterfly species by Jennifer Ball. Chip Taylor, founder of Monarch Watch, writes about the effects of bird loss on pollinators. Dave Goulson and Kim Flottum explore robotic pollinators, plus more by Shannon Brown, Ryan Burnett, Bill Johnson, Jodi Torpey, Katherine Mast, and Elizabeth Thompson.

Summer 2020 - The third issue includes spectacular UV photographs of flowers by Craig Burrows, and a photo essay of insects by Bill Johnson. Kit Prendergast discovers the mating grounds of an Australian bee, while Elizabeth Frost looks at the habitat destruction by Australia’s brushfires. Joan Meiners explores mason bees, plus several more articles by Rusty Burlew, Richard Pallardy, Nicholas Dorian, Monika Maeckle, Mark Winston, Phyllis Stiles, Joan Fox, Brigette Brown, and Travis Torline.

Autumn 2020 - The final issue of 2020 includes an interview with avid bee identifier Dr John Ascher, and another with Dr Winifred Frick. Jake Mosher’s nighttime sky landscapes transport the reader around the country while John Roche looks at commercial bumble bee pollination in greenhouses. Other topics include carpenter bees, native bees, honey tasting, and insect declines.

2021’s issues are packed with more great photos and articles.
